Know the Key Ingredients:

1) Lauha Bhasma, Mandur Bhasma & Kasis Bhasma
These classical Ayurvedic iron preparations provide highly bioavailable ferrous iron (Fe²⁺), the key raw material for haemoglobin synthesis. Prepared in nano-sized particles, they offer superior absorption with minimal gastric irritation. Their role is direct replenishment of iron stores to improve haemoglobin and RBC count.

2) Kalmegha (Andrographis paniculata)
In Ayurveda, Kalmegh is revered as a Yakritashodhak (liver purifier) and Raktashodhak (blood cleanser). It balances Pitta dosha, strengthens the liver (Yakrit), and supports healthy metabolism of Rakta Dhatu (blood tissue). Its Tikta (bitter) rasa and Sheeta virya help detoxify the liver, improve digestion, and prevent destruction of red blood cells (Raktaksaya). By nourishing the liver and purifying the blood, Kalmegh promotes sustained RBC health, enhances immunity, and supports overall vitality. Its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties complement its traditional Ayurvedic benefits, making it an ideal herb for maintaining healthy blood and liver function.

3) Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa)
Punarnava acts as a liver and kidney stimulant, while its diuretic and anti-inflammatory actions help reduce anaemic oedema. It supports circulation and improves overall metabolic efficiency in anaemic patients. In Ayurveda, Punarnava is considered Raktavardhaka (blood-enhancing) and Pittashamaka (Pitta-pacifying), nourishing Rakta Dhatu and promoting healthy fluid balance, thereby supporting both blood and tissue health naturally.

4) Sarpunkha (Tephrosia purpurea)
Sharpunkha is specifically included for its direct erythropoietic action. Ayurvedically indicated in spleen-related anaemia (Pleeha Raktakshaya), it nourishes Rakta Dhatu and balances Pitta and Kapha doshas. Modern studies show it selectively enhances RBC production and haemoglobin levels while protecting erythrocytes from damage.

5) Katuki (Picrorhiza kurroa)
Katuki is included primarily for its strong hepatoprotective and antioxidant action. In Ayurveda, it is considered a Yakrita shodhaka (liver purifier) and Pitta-balancing herb, stimulating liver function and maintaining metabolic equilibrium. Modern studies show it protects hepatocytes from drug- and toxin-induced damage. A healthy liver is essential for iron metabolism and RBC synthesis, making Katuki a foundational support in Haemeron.
