Know the Key Ingredients:

1) Neem beeja (Azadirachta indica)
Neem, with its Tikta (bitter) and Kashaya (astringent) rasa (taste), acts as a Kapha-Pitta shamak (balances Kapha and Pitta doshas) and is classically indicated in Prameha (diabetic and metabolic disorders) for its Kledaghna (reduces excess moisture and metabolic toxins) and Raktashodhaka (blood-purifying) properties, thereby helping regulate disturbed sugar metabolism. From a modern perspective, Neem exhibits potent hypoglycaemic activity by enhancing insulin secretion, inhibiting serotonin-mediated suppression of insulin, reducing epinephrine-induced glycogen breakdown, improving peripheral glucose utilization, and protecting pancreatic beta cells through its antioxidant action.

2) Mamejva (Enicostemma littorale)
Mamejwa is Tikta rasa dominant and is used in Prameha for improving Agni, reducing Ama, and correcting metabolic derangements. It also supports Mutravaha Srotas. It enhances glucose‑induced insulin release, improves insulin sensitivity, corrects dyslipidaemia, and offers nephroprotective and antioxidant benefits, reducing diabetic complications

3) Jambu beeja (Syzygium cumini)
Jambu is traditionally used in Madhumeha for its Stambhana (regulatory) and Kapha‑Pitta balancing effects, helping stabilize excessive urination and sugar loss. Jambu seed extract produces sustained reduction in blood glucose by improving insulin action and carbohydrate metabolism, particularly effective in long‑term glycaemic control.

4) Karvellaka (Momordica charantia)
Karvellak is a classical Prameha‑hara herb known for scraping excess Meda and normalizing glucose levels. It supports Agni, reduces Kapha, and delays diabetic complications. It contains Charantin, Polypeptide‑P (plant insulin), and cucurbitanoids that stimulate insulin secretion, enhance peripheral glucose uptake, suppress hepatic gluconeogenesis, and improve lipid profile. It also demonstrates beta‑cell regenerative and adaptogenic effects.

5) Shilajita (Asphaltum)
Shilajit is a renowned Yogavahi and Rasayana, enhancing tissue metabolism, strengthening Agni, and rejuvenating endocrine function in chronic Madhumeha. Shilajit inhibits alpha‑amylase and alpha‑glucosidase enzymes, thereby reducing intestinal glucose absorption. It also improves mitochondrial function and overall metabolic efficiency.
